Obituary for Sherman Lee Washington

Sherman Lee Washington was born March 26, 1951 to Wilhelmina Pinckney and Sherman Washington in Jacksonville, Florida. He confessed Christ in 1977 and attended Second Missionary Baptist Church. Sherman graduated Old Stanton High School, Class of 1969.

Sherman departed this life on July 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Washington; and a best friend, William Taylor (Bean).

Sherman was an owner of American Cares Lawn Service, which he put his heart in every yard he cared for. He had the opportunity to go on live tour with Michael Jackson and other live bands. He loved music and he was a collector of fine memorable art. He also loved his car, which was a gold classic Mercedes Benz.

Sherman is survived by his mother, Wilhelmina Pinckney; brother, Lloyd Washington; children, Shannon Townsend (Joe), Shermon Washington and Myra Edwards (Christen); grandchildren, Tracy II, Trevor, Sean, Corey and Harper; great-grandson, Travis; sisters, Rosetta Chambers (Al) and Annie Mae Cook (Thomas); aunts, Althair Ansley, Elizabeth Bradford (Tommie), Mable Wilson, Alice Porter and Kathleen Burk; uncles, Clemson Pinckney (Carol) and Sylvester Pinckney (Vivian); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Sherman Lee Washington will be held 11 AM, Thursday, July 25th, 2019 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden - Samuel C.
