Obituary for Shirley Jean Leon

Shirley Jean Leon was born in Jesup, Georgia on December 18, 1952 to her parents, Lottie Mae Bryant and William Samuel Dillon. She received her high school diploma and was baptized later in life as a witness of the Southside congregation. She got remarried to Willie Leon, Sr. in Jacksonville, Florida on October 9, 1982.

Shirley was known for her beauty and pretty smile. She loved her husband, her kids, and her grandkids. She was strength for her friends and family as she took care of everyone. She welcomed people in and loved to cook. She enjoyed rice and loved herself some seafood.
She was always jolly and happy. Her sense of humor was great and often joked about Smokey Robinson and Johnny Gill being her other husbands.

She was determined and strong-willed. If she wanted something done, she would put her mind to it and got it done. She was confident and was a fighter. She would not let anything hold her back and any obstacles would not stand in her way. She would keep going and smiling while going through it.

During her spare time, she enjoyed reading mysteries and drama. She also watched old comedy shows like Martin, Family Matters and Living Single. Everyone had kind words to say about Shirley and how she touched their lives with her beauty, wisdom, kind words, and strength.

Shirley Jean Leon departed this life on August 2, 2020, and was preceded in death by her parents, William Samuel Dillon and Lottie Mae Bryant; sister, Emma Dale Robinson; brother, Tony Dillon; and grandkids, Brian Gregory Brown and Malik Jamal Cason.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Willie Leon, Sr.; one and only son, Henry Lee Williams, Jr. (Frenchess); daughters, Lajuan Shondell Cason (William) and Sherry Ann Williams; brothers, Roy Lee Dillon (Lessie) and Larry Dillon (Sharrie); grandkids, great-grands, and a host of other family and friends.
