Obituary for Solomon Fisher Jr.

Solomon Fisher Jr. age 90, on May 13, 2022, soul was called to its final eternal resting place. He was born October 14, 1931, to the late Solomon Fisher Sr and Essie Mae Fisher. He was the youngest of three children. He was preceded in death by his wife Polly Mae Fisher, two sons, Michael Fisher and Michael Gordon, one daughter Connie Freeman from Brooklyn, NY, and brother Willie Fisher from Brunswick, GA.

He enlisted in the United States Army November 14, 1955 and received an honorable discharge October 23, 1957. The United States Navy employed him as a Civil Service Employee for more than 32 years; he retired September 01, 1995, culmination more than 34 years of faithful and devoted federal government service to the United States of America. Solomon Fisher Jr. was the first Black American to paint the new F/A-18s Fighter Boomer Aircraft.

He is survived by one brother Robert Fisher (St Louis, MO), 19 sons Rodney (Ronnie) Fisher, Steven (Steve) Fisher, Robert Allen Sr, Solomon (Rickey) Allen, Wayne Cotton, Harold Cotton, Andre Gillespie, Darrell Cummings, Larry Cummings, Andre Fisher, Alton Drinks, Solomon Fisher Hines, Andre Hines, Kevin Fisher, James Forman, Jewell Hayes all of Jacksonville, FL; Jackie Gordon of Anniston, AL; Vasily Fisher of North Carolina; Walter Dunn of South Carolina; 5 daughters Cherry Ann Lightner, Debbie Fisher, Salome Fisher, Deborah Limbric, and Joyce Fisher a host of Grands, Great Grands and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Solomon Fisher Jr. will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at the First Timothy Baptist Church, 12103 Biscayne Blvd JACKSONVILLE, FL 32218. The visitation will be 5-7 P.M., Friday, May 20th, 2022 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery-Lane 3.
