Mrs. Synetta Renea Chandler-Latson, was born on March 9, 1958, in Jacksonville, Florida to Merceda Cherry and Tommy Chandler, Sr. Synetta was educated in the Duval County School System, graduating from Jean Ribault High School, Class of 1975. She was a Majorette in high school and her hobbies included reading literature and helping others.

Synetta, matriculated at Florida State University, in Tallahassee, Florida earning a Bachelor’s Degree from the school of Nursing in 1982. Upon graduation, she was employed at Baptist Hospital as a Pediatric Nurse. She later worked for the Department of Children and Family Services.

Loving and devoted relatives will always cherish her memory: husband, Leroy Latson, Jacksonville, Florida; sons, Preston Kendrick, Jr., (Emilissa) of New York, NY, Michael Latson of Atlanta, Georgia; mother, Merceda Cherry; father, Tommy Chandler, Sr. (Gracie) of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, Tommy Chandler, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida, Thornton Chandler (Karen) and J. Todd Chandler of Humble, Texas; uncles, Herman McGhee and Howard McGhee of Jacksonville, Florida; special cousin, Samuel Chandler, and many sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Synetta Renea Chandler-Latson passed away January 15, 2015 at the age of 56. A memorial service will be held at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church, 215 Bethel Baptist Street, Jacksonville FL, 32202, Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick, Jr. officiating. She is survived by her husband, Leroy Latson; sons, Preston Kendrick, Jr. (Emillisa), and Michael Latson; mother, Merceda Cherry; father Tommy Chandler, Sr. (Gracie); brothers Tommy Chandler, Jr., Thornton Chandler,
(Karen), and J. Todd Chandler; special cousin, Samuel Chandler, and many sorrowing relatives and friends.
