Obituary for Thelma Lee Thomas

Ms. Thelma Lee Thomas was born on March 21, 1927 in Delmar, Georgia to the late Roosevelt and Mattie Jane Simmons. She attended the public schools in Delmar, Georgia. Thelma was the 2nd oldest of nine children. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Thelma loved her family and she loved to cook.

On February 15, 1947, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Cephus Thomas, Sr. and to this union one son was born.

Thelma crossed over from death to life on Friday, April 6, 2018, where her parents, Roosevelt & Mattie Simmons; son, Cephus Thomas, Jr.; and six siblings all preceded her in death.

Thelma’s life memories will be forever cherished by her loving family, she leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters, Sallie Mae Walker of Jacksonville, Florida and Eloise Young of Valdosta, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Wavine Thomas; five grandchildren, Mary L. Thomas, Terry Thomas (Melissa), Lavern Hicks (Ricky), Linda Baily (Stephon) and Shayla Thomas; godson, Mark Barlow; six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
