Tommie Lee Green was born on February 11, 1941 to Pearline S. Tisby and S. T. Green in Dawson, Georgia. He attended school in Dawson, Georgia, and was a member of Mount Cannan Baptist Church.

Tommie enlisted in the United States Army on November 21, 1963 and served until he was honorably discharged. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida and married Luethel Green in 1966, to this union three sons and 4 daughters were born.

Tommie departed this life on Thursday, December 10, 2015 and was preceded in death by his wife, Luethel Green; mother, Pearline Tisby; brother, Charles T. Green; children, Johnnie, Minnie, and Michael.

Tommie leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted granddaughter/caretaker, Tonia Perry (Carl); three sons, Clarance (Lean), Robert (Alise), and Anthony (Vanessa); four daughters, Melody (Andre), Toma, Yvette (John), and Shirley Ann; one brother, Ernest Bobby Carter; grandchildren, Tawanda (Henry), Johnnie, Latasha (Jeff), Derrick, Sharon, Rachel, Shakari, Nyohnna, De’Ante, Amanda, Lavetta, and Jordan; seventeen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Antoninette; cousins, Mr. Willie, and Mrs. Donnie; special cousin, Shirley M. Hughes; and a host of other relatives and friends.
