Obituary for Tonardist Leanderist "Tony" Collins

Tonardist (Tony) Leanderist Collins was born on November 1, 1962 to the late Habey Collins and Johnnie Mae Collins in Jacksonville, Florida. Tony gave his life to Christ at an early age, and recently rededicated his life to Christ. Tony had a special relationship with his maternal grandparents, Rev. John and Mandy Heath both whom preceded him in death.

Tony was educated in the Duval County school system, attended Andrew Jackson High School. He was a proud member of the AJ Tigers Marching Band; he played the drums and became the percussion section leader. Tony later in life joined the United States Army where he served his country honorably. He was a loveable person and loved by many people whom he counseled throughout his life and he was well respected.

Tony leaves behind his devoted wife Marsha Collins; stepdaughters, DeAndra Garner and Aubrey Madkins; granddaughters, Audrianna, Maliya and Kierstan all of Huntsville, Alabama; loving mother, Johnnie Mae Collins; stepmother, Christine Collins both of Jacksonville, Florida; mother-in-law, Rosie Garner of Huntsville, Alabama; brothers, Avery Collins of Jacksonville, Florida and Ernest Smith of Warrenton, Virginia; brother-in-law, Lacurtis (Umeeka) Smith of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters, Contina Collins of Jacksonville, Florida and Shauna Collins-Brown whom proceeded him in death.

Tony shared a special and loving relationship with his aunt, Patricia Horne and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
