She received her education at James Weldon Johnson High School.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Children, Janie Smith, Barbara Chaney, Manning Seawright and Clyde Muller; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Williams; 2 brothers, John White and David White, and a host of other relatives and friends.
