Obituary for Ulysses Davis

Ulysses Davis was born on February 13, 1924, in Macon, Georgia to parents, Frank and Annie Davis. Ulysses was a devoted Christian who loved going to worship and praising God. He was a member of the Northside Church of Christ and the Christian Fathers Quartet. His clear tenor voice could be heard distinctly. He was an encouraging brother to all who knew him. Ulysses was married to the late Corine Davis, and a father that loved his children.

Ulysses was a hard-working brother who was never defeated by a task. He helped countless boys become responsible men. He showed them how to work for their family and often shared how he had to quit school in the third grade to provide for his mother and siblings.

He searched for his wife Corine daily. We would tell him he would see her again; then, we would sing and have a good old time! His prayers still ring in our ears today.

Ulysses passed quietly as he was called home on December 19, 2020. He will be cherished and remembered by those he left behind: sons; Horace Collins, Marion Collins, Marvin Collins, Jeffrey Collins, Don Collins, Herman Collins, and Ralph Collins (D.C.); daughters; Ellen D. Sanders (Bobby), Marva D. Cuthpert (Ronald), Georgia Burns, Sheryl Collins, Vivian Collins, Cathy Collins, and Ms. Cunningham; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
