Ms. Velvet Griffin unexpectedly passed away on November 27, 2016. She was preceded in death by her mother, Henrietta Kendrick Farmer; and sister, Katrina Taylor. Velvet leaves to cherish memories, two loving daughters, Talathia Sheffield and Darlinda Griffin (Anthony); a grandson she adored, Jayden Turner; six sisters, one brother, and a host of other family members and friends. Ms. Griffin will rest in the mortuary for visitation of friends on Friday, December 9, 2016, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Services will be held on SATURDAY at 11:00am in Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 7141 New Kings Rd. Rev. Aloysious D. Denard, pastor, officiating.
