Vera was born on June 16, 1957 to Jake and Pinkie Jones in Jacksonville, Florida. She confessed Christ at an early age, uniting with Northside Church of Christ, where she was baptized. Vera received her education at Jean Ribault High School. She later met and married Kenneth White in Jacksonville, Florida from this union four sons were born, Darrell, Ernest, Jermaine and Antonio.

Vera departed this life on Monday, April 30, 2018. She was preceded in death by her father, Jake Jones; mother, Pinkie Jones and son, Ernest Williams.

Vera leaves to cherish her memories; a loving husband, Kenneth White; sons, Darrell Jones, Jermaine Jones and Antonio Brooks; brothers, James Jones (Vermell), Henry Saisbury, William Jones and Bryant Jones (Laverne); sisters, Annie Jones Cunningham, Annie E. Jones, Claudia Jones, Ruth Mitchell and Emma Jones; devoted god sister, Lillian Scott; 16 grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
