Obituary for Wealthie Fisher Jr.
Wealthie Fisher, Jr., the son of the late Wealthy Fisher, Sr. and Emma Lindsey Fisher, was born March 22, 1929, in Vandemere, North Carolina. He departed this life February 3, 2023, in his home.
He retired with 22 years from the United States Navy and 22 years with the City of Jacksonville, Florida.
Mr. Fisher was a member of the Northside Church of Christ. He was also a member of the New Men Ministry where he was a proud cook for the men. He was a joy to be around, and he loved to cruise.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wealthy Fisher, Sr.; mother, Emma Lindsey Fisher; son, Wealthie Fisher Jr. II.; daughters, Carolyn and Vickie Fisher. Brothers, LeNearl, Edward, and Richard Fisher; sisters, Leatrice Jones, Annie Cuff, and Corine Funn.
Mr.. Fisher leaves to cherish his memory his wife Mae Fisher; one daughter, Sheila Fisher Long; son, Tyrone Fisher; granddaughter, Sheila S. Spears (Andrew Spears); grandson, Lloyd Long Jr.; God daughter, Beverly Byers; God son, Bernard Wright; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy Wethington of New Jersey and Pauline Tukes of Stanford, Connecticut; sisters-in-law, Ernestine Fisher of Jamaica, New York, Zadie Johnson, Virginia Harris (Frank Harris), Barbara Sifford (James Sifford), Gwendolyn Gaskin (George Gaskins), Pearlie Mathis, Linda Williams (Ronald Williams); brothers-in-law, Willie and Jonell Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
