Print
Mr. Wilbert Henry Moore was born on June 25, 1947 to the late Jetta and Willie Lee Moore, he was the oldest of ten children. Wilbert was a life long resident of Jacksonville, Florida and attended the local schools. He accepted Christ and was added to the body of Christ at a young age. Wilbert later met Lorraine Daniels and from this union three children were born.

Wilbert was called home on Monday, March 5, 2018 at his residence. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Lawrence Moore, Sr.

Wilbert was employed by Canada Dry as a truck driver. He was also self-employed as a carpenter and enjoyed building and repairing. To neighbors and others Wilbert was known as (A.K.A Moby). As a young man in 1964, he built a treehouse that survived Hurricane Dora. Moby also had a love for Muscle Cars, once owning a “57 Chevy”. Moby loved and spent most of his free time riding his scooter around the neighborhood visiting and socializing with family and friends. One of his favorite sayings was: “God gave me these hands.”

Wilbert leaves to cherish his fond memories: three daughters, Lorraine Daniels, Tammy Daniels, Cunedia (Brian) Cohen; brothers, Harold (Gloria), Warren (Amy), and Robert Moore; sisters, Mary James, Linda Wade, Carolyn (Richard) McNeil, Lillian Scott, Barbara (Benjamin) Nicholas and Lisa Moore; aunt, Delois Rosier, of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Sharayne, Terrence, Michael, Joseph, David, Antonia, Brian Jr., Carlton, Briana and Brailah; great-grandchildren, Zanariah, Zakyah, Amarian and Joseph Jr.; special cousins, Simon Cull, Carl Hartsfield, Eugene Johnson and Stanley Moore; godbrother, Eugene Sykes; friends, Sugarboy and Crow; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
