Obituary for Wilbur Green

Mr. Wilbur “Paw” Green was born on February 17, 1940, he was the third child of eleven children from the late Otis and Annie Lou Dekle Green in Metter, Georgia (Candler County). Mr. Green attended public school in Metter, Georgia and Jacksonville Beach, Florida. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was employed at the age of 14 and worked at Inlet Inn in Ponte Vedra, Homestead, BB McCormick and he also worked as a tractor trailer driver at Florida Rock for over 20 years. Wilbur was a self-employed landscaper at Wilbur Green’s Lawn Service for over 25 years.

Mr. Green was joined in holy matrimony to a devoted wife of 51 years, Janice Johnson Green. From this union one son, Michael Sr. was born.

Mr. Green entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, July 5th, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Annie Lou Deckle Green; brothers, Ezra, Clarence and Bill.

Mr. Green leaves to cherish his memories: a wife, Janice Johnson Green; sons, Michael Sr. (Melissa) and David (Cherri); four brothers, Johnny Paul (Blenda), Otis Jr. (Carolyn), William (Mary), and Harvey Lee (Lisa); brother-in-law, Robert; five sisters, Annie Laur (Earnest) Johnson, Lucille Payton, Rosa Robinson, Eula (Willie) Mincey and Queen (Ronald) Staten; two sisters-in-law, Florita (Joseph) Pope and Patricia (Robert) Powell; three grandchildren, Michael Jr., Latifah and Deion; three great-grandchildren, Camya, Whitney and Michael III; one aunt, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
