Obituary

William Lucious Mack (Duke) was born to the late William Dewhite and Mildred Person on December 28, 1949 in Abbeville, GA. Moving to Jacksonville, FL at a young age, he attended Forest Park Elementary, James Weldon Johnson Jr. High, graduating from Stanton Vocational High School.

William (Duke) was employed with the Maritime Shipping Company, Pepsi Cola Bottling Group as a truck driver, and ILA Local #1408 International Longshoremen’s Association, until his health began to fail.

Duke will be remembered as a sharp dressed man, his fat cheeks when he smiled, kindness towards others, truck driving, hunting, motorcycle riding, as a mechanic, and his favorite three saying, “Oh boy”, “Hey dere! How ya be?” and “My friend”.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by three brothers: David, Robert, and Michael (his heart); and Richard Person.
