Obituary for William Waddell

Mr. William Waddell was born to the late Joseph and Jessie Pearl Waddell on February 10, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was educated through the local schools and graduated from Matthew W. Gilbert Senior High School on June 8, 1966. After one year of college, he enlisted in the United States Army military and gave his service for six years. In the Vietnam War, after receiving an Honorable Discharge, he came home, he also received for his service from the Army:

William worked as a plumbing supply warehouse manager, oil tanker driver, construction worker and correction officer before retiring. William was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jessie Pearl Waddell; wife, Estella Waddell; son, William Waddell, Jr.; brothers, James and Ulysesses, Jr. Waddell.

William is survived by his daughters, Debbie Norman, Angela Waddell, and Vonizee Butler; sons, Joseph Waddell (wife, Cappy Smith), Carter Waddell, and Lee Campbell; a dear devoted friend and caregiver, Gloria Keepler; a host of grandchildren, Gerard, Tyesha, Tromaine, Dwayne, Keianna, Etric Waddell, Angel, Allen, Malcolm; and great grandchildren, Jaion and Tavion; and many friends and family, the Robinsons, and David Sharpe.

The funeral service for William Waddell will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 13th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 am, Monday, July 13th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
