Willie Edward Dowell, lovingly known as “Ed”, was born January 15, 1953 in Randolph County, Georgia to the late Mr. Fernando Dowell Sr. and Mrs. Katherine Seals-Dowell. He attended local public schools here in Jacksonville Florida. In his earlier years, he worked as a Brick Mason. Ed was raised on the Westside of Jacksonville Florida and was very well-known in his community.

On Sunday, January 24, 2021 Ed answered God’s call and went home to be with the Lord. Ed was proceeded in death by his sister, Linda Dowell and brothers, Willie James Harvey and Fernando Dowell Jr.

Ed leaves to mourn his son, Edward “Pookie” Jackson and daughter, Nichole Brown (Samuel), mother of his children, Patricia Jackson; granddaughters, Markia Brooks, Ashlyn Jackson, Aonesti Brooks, Tyreonnna Brown, and Sydney Jackson; grandson, Blair Jackson; great grand-daughter Ryan Brooks; brother, Willie C. Tillman (Atlanta Georgia), sisters, Marilynn Dowell-Glover, Kathy Dowell, and Unzella Dowell; brother, Arthur Dowell; nieces, Tomeka Glover, Ericka Dennis, and Shameka Dowell; nephews, Tiewond L Dowell Sr. and Eric Dennis Jr.; and a host of great nieces and nephews; Special friends: Hershel Jones, Dwayne Glover aka “Big Red”, and Tonya Clark.

The funeral service for Willie Edward Dowell will be held 1:30 pm Saturday, January 30th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden - Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 29th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S.
