Willie Richard Griffith, Jr. was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 17, 1953 to his parents Willie R. Griffith Sr. and Evelyn Griffith. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Tuskegee University. He later met and married Linda J. Griffith.

Willie departed this life on December 31, 2019 and was preceded in death by his father, Willie Richard Griffith Sr.

Willie leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Linda Griffith; mother, Evelyn Griffith brothers, Eric Griffith (Marion) and Gerald Griffith (April); sisters, Jannell Fultz (Eugene), Rachel Holmes, Beverly Tyson (Wallace), Cherrilyn Jones (Lonnie), Loretta Wells (Michael), Denise Cotton (Derrick), Kathy Smith (Hubert), and Amanda Terry (Roy); brother-in-laws, Curtis Lee Jones, Johnny Jackson, Willie Kirk Jackson, Sr., Charles Wesley Jackson, Sr. (Valerie), Albert Anderson (Dorothy); sister-in-laws, Annie Moore, Ollie Turner (Charlie), Gail Thompson, Faye Stripling (Virgil), Kathelina Jackson, Lillie Jackson, Joyce Farmer (Cecil), Shirley Bank (Emmitt) and Bessie Fitzgerald; and a host of relatives, aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and friends.
