Obituary for Willie James Williams Sr.

Willie James Williams, Sr., affectionately known to many of his friends as “James”, was born on June 17, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late William M. and Annie Tena Williams and was raised with his thirteen brothers and sisters.

On Wednesday, March 24th, 2021, Willie James passed away from complications of the disease. After a long battle with progressive dementia, he was called home and given rest. 

Willie was married to the beautiful Geraldine Williams for over 58 years and spent many decades working on the road as a truck driver. He was apart of the NRA and had a love for dogs and a passion for motorcycles. 

Willie was preceded in passing by his father, William M. Williams Sr. and mother, Annie Tena Williams; siblings, William M. Williams Jr., Milton Williams, Mina Jackson, Daniel Williams, Harrison Williams, Cathrine Stafford, and great-grand children, Zendrick Cunningham Jr., Zytaveon Lewis, and Antwon Risher

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Williams; four children: Annette Williams-Coleman (Michael), Patricia Sanders (Joseph), Willie Williams Jr. (Chiquita), and Eric Williams. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by siblings, David Williams (Janice), Spade Williams (Denise), Larry Williams (Donna), Finnie Williams (Danielle), Jacob Olds, and Betty Williams; as well as 11 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great-grand child; and goddaughters, Sharon Taylor and Melonie Reynolds; a host of nieces, nephews, and many loving family members and friends.
