Obituary for Wilmer Crowder Hicks (Crowder)

Ms. Wilmer Crowder Hicks, was born December 1, 1948 to the late Mozella Crowder Wesley and Emmett Bishop, Father of love Nathaniel Wesley Sr.

Wilmer attended the public schools of Duval County and was a Graduate of William M. Raines, Class of 1968. She was later employed with the Duval County School Board where she was the Cafeteria Cook, retiring after 30 years of employment.

Wilmer who was affectionately known as “Babysister” to all her close family and friends. She was also known for her infamous flavored cooking style, her caring heart, and giving to others.

Wilmer met and married Richard Hicks Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hicks, Jr.; mother, Mozella Crowder Wesley; father, Emmett Bishop; father of love, Nathaniel Wesley, Sr.; sister, Elsie; and brothers, Rallin, Emmett, and Gerald.

Those left to cherish her memories, daughter, Theresa A. Jackson (Andre); grandson, Andre D. Jackson III.; sisters: Brenda Henderson (Julius), Annette Simmons (Joseph), Linda Bussey (Tyrone), Joann Wesley, Patricia Wesley, and Yvonne Wesley; brothers: George Wesley, Joseph Wesley, Bernard Wesley (Darcy) and Nathaniel Wesley Jr. (Shelia); a host of nieces and nephews; Forever friends to include Rosa, Mary Agnes, Josephine, Jestine, Sandra P., Barbara R., Rushie Mo, Lula, Essie, and Zina her “cuz” along with her bonus niece, JoDee; and BFF’s Stacie and Earl.
