Obituary for Wilstronuia "Buster" Jones
Wilstronuia was born on August 27, 1934 in Oakfield, Georgia to J.M. Jones and Rose Ellen Howard. Wilstronuia attended schools in Oakfield, Georgia until he moved to Jacksonville, Florida at the age of nine.
Wilstronuia met and married Betty Adams-Jones in Folkston, Georgia on January 24, 1957. Wilstronuia joined the United States Army and served his country for four years while also serving in the Korean War. He then worked for Republic Yellow Freight Truck Lines as a terminal manager for 21 1/2 years. He also was an employee of the City of Jacksonville as a public safety/security for 20 years.
Wilstronuia departed this life on June 20, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.M. Jones and Rose Ellen Howard.
Wilstronuia is survived by his wife, Betty Adams Jones; son, Kenneth Bernard Jones; granddaughter, Kiara Johnson and grandson, Kanard Jones; a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Wilstronuia "Buster" Jones will be held 11 AM, Saturday, June 29th, 2019 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church 954 Kings Road. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Friday, June 28th, 2019 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden 4315 North Main Street. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
