Obituary for Ira Mae Cribb

Ira Mae  Cribb
Heaven smiled on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, when God called
one of His beloved children from His beautiful earthly garden
home to be with Him. Ira Mae Cribb, born January 30, 1937,
graced us with her presence for 77 wonderful years.
Ira Mae was born and raised in Fernandina Beach, FL to the
parents of Jessie Kirtsey and Robert Williams. She was a sister to
Laura Bell Armstrong, Robert Williams Jr., Celestine Rawls, and
only surviving sibling, Willie Williams (Rose Ann). She attended
Peck High School.
Ira Mae met and married the love of her life, Leon Cribb. They
were married over 35 years before his sudden death in 1980. To
this union one child was adopted, Robert Chester Williams
(Enell) of Chicago, IL, and eight children were born; Leon Cribb
(Patricia), Leonia Tyler (James) of Jacksonville, FL, Arlene Green
(Henry), of Fernandina Beach, FL, Wanda Moore (Glenn) of
Ormond Beach, FL, Linda Williams (Leonard) of Yulee, FL, and
Edwin Cribb of Jacksonville FL. Two sons, William and Leonard
Cribb preceded her in death.
Ira Mae was a member of Elm Street Church of God, where she
gave her life to the Lord and served faithfully. She was a member
of the usher board, a member of the choir, a Sunday school
attendee, and a member of the Women’s Department. Ira Mae
worked at Peck High School and Fernandina Beach High School as
a cook. She enjoyed traveling, baking and spending time with her
family and friends. Ira Mae leaves memories of her to be cherished by four sisters inlaws,
26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 godsons and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Ira Mae Cribb will be held 11 AM, SATURDAY at the River of Praise Worship Center, 83410 St Mark Dr, Yulee, FL . The visitation will be held 5- 7 PM FRIDAY at the Elm Street Church of God, 502 S 11th St, Fernandina Beach, FL. Interment in Bosque Bello Cemetery.
