Obituary for Barbara Jean Kelly-Williams

Barbara Jean Kelly-Williams
Mrs. Barbara Jean Kelly-Williams, was born to the late, Mrs. Bertha Lee Kelly and Mr. Tom Kelly, Jr., on November 30, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was the second child of three siblings, all beautiful girls. Earnestine D. Kelly, preceded her in death.

Brought up in a Christian family, she was baptized at Dayspring Baptist Church, on Jefferson Street, by the late Pastor Cyrus Weaver. Barbara accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She served on the usher board and sang in a gospel quartet.

Mrs. Williams received her education in the public schools of Duval County, in Jacksonville, FL, graduating from Stanton Vocational School in 1957. She worked as a school Crossing Guard until her retirement in 1998. Her hobby was having a “green thumb”, she enjoyed reviving plants.

In 1955, she met Martin Ferguson and from this union, one child was born (Beverly Joyce Kelly) to rejoice the memory of a mother who loved, cared and was concerned about her welfare until death. Mrs. Williams had a loving and devoted family, who visited and provided for her needs on a daily basis during her stay at the Summer Brook Health Care Center (formerly known as, Eartha MM. White Health Care Center). She departed this life on Friday, January 9, 2015.

She leaves to cherish her memories, loving and devoted family members, a daughter, Beverly Joyce Kelly; grandchildren, Gregory Kelly, Sabrina Kelly, Devon Kelly and Kimberly Kelly; a devoted and loving sister, Thomasina K.
