Obituary for Herman Smith
Herman Lamar Smith, was born March 14, 1965 in Jacksonville, Florida to Herman Lamar Hall and the late, Ms. Mildred Virginia Campbell. He received his education in Duval County and continued his education at Florida Gateway College by earning a certificate in Waste Water Management, and was seeking an A.A. Degree in Environmental Science Technology. He also received certificates from the State of Florida in Electricity, Plumbing and Cabinetmaking. He was currently employed with Arc Flash Electric.
Herman met Ms. Johannah Hall and they were United in Matrimony on February 13, 2004 for eleven years.
Herman was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Virginia Campbell; grandmothers, Emma Lee Williams and Altamese Hall-Jones; aunts, Janice Smith and Carthleen Crawford and uncle, Jonathan Smith.
Herman departed this life on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 and he leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Johannah; step daughters, Tiffaney and Kenyota Hall; step grandchildren, Tashima Hall and Johnnie Freeman; father, Herman L. Hall; brothers, LaCardo Smith of Syracuse, NY, and Steven (Sabrina) Smith of Atlanta, GA; sister, Towanna Christian; in-laws, Osborne (Cora), Michael, Tony, Cynthia, Vanessa Hall and Sharon (Harold) Fleming all of Jacksonville, FL; aunts and uncles, Gladys Williams, Cora Dewberry, Vera (Arthur) Hines and Sheila Oliver all of Syracuse, NY, Carolyn (Gerald) McGee of Charlotte, NC, Debra (Kenneth) Lewis of Jacksonville, FL, Robert (Doris) Smith of Orlando, FL, Ronald (Addie) Smith of DeSoto, TX, Danny (Michelle) Smith, Bruce (Emika) Williams of Syracuse, NY, Major (Veronica) Baker, Reginald (Tammy) Jones all of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of great uncles and great aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Herman Smith will be held 10AM, Saturday at the Word of Truth Worship Center 3012 W. 12th Street. The visitation will be held 5 - 7PM, Friday at the mortuary.
