Obituary for Helen Marie Bell

Helen Marie  Bell
Mrs. Helen Marie Bell, was the third child born to the late, Joe Brown Curry and Clyde Elizabeth Carter on October 20, 1934, in Olustee, Florida. She attended the Public Schools of Duval County. Early in life, Sister Bell accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She was a faithful member of United Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Morris J. Halyard, Pastor. Sister Bell was a member of the Usher Board and she was the Mother of the Church.

Sister Bell, was employed and retired from the Duval County School Board after many years of dedicated service as a food service worker. Following her services with DCPS, Mother Bell spent many years employed at the YWCA and the Foster Grandparents Program.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15). On Wednesday, February 25, 2015, the Lord plucked one of his beautiful precious flowers from his garden to live with him eternally in the heavens. Sister Bell was loving, nurturing and devoted to the well being of her family. She was a woman of faith, wisdom, courage and a mighty prayer warrior.

Sister Bell, leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted family, son, Lewis C. Gardner, Jr. (Priscilla); her daughter, Mrs. Deborah G. Polite; brothers, Willie Joe Curry (Cherry) and Freddie Lee Curry; grandchildren, Kimberly Lewis, Michael M. Gardner, Michael Levy Gardner, Mary Grayson, Mia Polite, Ceteria Polite, Anaria McClenton, Deedra McMullen, LeRoyce Polite; four great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Tricia Campbell (Timothy), Cynthia Fuller, Regina C. Jones (Floyd), Angela Jenkins (Richard), Oneda Curry, Sharnika Williams, Sherolde Smith, Kelvin Gavin, Danny T. Curry and Fredrick Curry (Jocelyn); goddaughter, Katrina James; a host of other relatives and friends to include a special friend, Barbara Peterson.

The funeral service for Helen Marie Bell will be held 11AM, Saturday at the Peace Miss. Baptist Church 1759 Rowe Avenue. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM, Friday at the mortuary.
