Linda Jean Smith, was born on June 19, 1953 in Newport, Florida to the late Ed Jerome Smith and Bennie Mae Smith. Linda’s early education began in Newport, Florida, later the family relocated and moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she attended the Duval County Public Schools. Linda was employed as a Crew Transportation Service Provider, by Professional Transportation, Inc., where she thoroughly enjoyed customer interaction.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her numerous friends and family members. She will be remember for her love of family, outgoing personality, independent spirit and great laugh.

Linda passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Jerome Smith and Bennie Mae Smith; brother, John Jeremiah Smith and son-in-law, Phil Maurice Green.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Green and Stephanie (Kenneth) Rasberry; granddaughters, Morghan Green, Kenya and Kendra Rasberry; brother, Eddie Jerome (April) Smith; sisters, Loretha (Swancey) Johnson, Jeanette Smith, Alice Burton, Evelyn (David) Creech, Bernice Smith, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.


The chapel service for Linda Jean Smith will be held 11AM, Thursday at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street. The visitation will be one hour before the service.
