Obituary for Elouise Gillins

Elouise  Gillins
Mrs. Elouise Williams Gillins was born on May 13, 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Willie E. Williams and Frances Williams. Mrs. Gillins attended the Public Schools in Duval County. She later met and married the late James Gillins. Elouise was President of the tenant association of Hogan Creek Towers, where she was a resident for many years. She was a devoted member of Cathedral of faith COGIC, under the leadership of Bishop C.D. Kinsey and later joined became a member of Emmanuel COGIC, under the leadership of Pastor Gabriel Hall. Mrs. Gillins served on the Mother’s Board, she also served over the Bus Ministry and was faithful member of Sunday School, Adult Class #1. Most of all she loved her Pastor, Gabriel Hall and First Lady M. Joyce Hall.

Elouise departed this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 and was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Ms. Velma Scott.

Elouise leaves to cherish her loving memories, her brother Willie Williams (Marietta); daughters, Frances Edgecomb (Steven), Selita Base (Sam), Sharon Mitchell (Jessie), Denise Cooper; son, Donald Walker (Belinda); a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; cousins; one goddaughter, Betty Johnson-James; her friends at Hogan Creek Towers, and her Emmanuel COGIC family.

The funeral service for Elouise Gillins will be held 11 AM, Saturday, at the Emmanuel COGIC of Jacksonville 6326 Dunn Avenue. The visitation will be held 5 - 7PM Friday at the mortuary.
