Kelvin Stanley  Davis Sr.
On the morning of Monday August 17, 2015, God whispered “Come my child, I have prepared a special place just for you.” Kelvin fought a good fight, he kept the faith, and we rejoice in knowing he finished his course.

Kelvin S. Davis, Sr. was born on August 26, 1963 to the late Jimmy Davis, Jr. and Claretha Bonds in Savannah, Georgia. He attended school in Georgia, graduating from Alfred E. Beach High School in 1981 as a high school basketball standout. Kelvin attended Tuskegee University, and Georgia College on a student athletic scholarship, he loved sports and loved playing the game. Later Kelvin graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1989, earning his Bachelor’s in Business Management. Kelvin entered the United States Navy in 1987 and received various awards and achievements, he served as a Communications Specialist. Kelvin received a honorable discharge after four years of military service. He also was involved in various organizations, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, 100 Black Men, Ghost Writers International, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and the Jacksonville Urban League. Kelvin has been recognized as mentor of the year through some of the programs he participated in. Kelvin was a successful Financial Planner and Business Owner “Peace of Mind Planning for Seniors” in Jacksonville, Florida for over 23 years.

Kelvin met and married the love of his life, Maria Denise (Tina) Davis on October 21, 1987 and to this union they were blessed with two beautiful children, Terica Breonn Davis and Kelvin S. Davis, Jr.

Kelvin departed this life on Monday, August 17, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Davis, Jr. of Thomasville, Georgia; grandfather, Jimmy Davis, Sr.; grandmother, Vivian Davis of Thomasville, Georgia; grandfather, David Bonds; grandmother, Stella Bonds of Savannah, Georgia; brother-in-law, Stephen Bryant of Savannah, Georgia, father-in-law, Edward Lee Bryant of Savannah, Georgia.

Kelvin leaves to cherish his precious memories, his devoted wife, Maria Denise (Tina) Davis; beautiful daughter, Terica Davis; faithful son and namesake, Kelvin S. Davis, Jr.; mother, Claretha Price; mother-in-law, Alma Boddie; grandchildren, Ja’Karee Eley and Ja’Kobe Eley; future son-in-law, Sam Turner; brother-in-laws, Edward Johnson, Bernard Murray, Yancy Bryant, Larry Bryant, Anthony Bryant, and Tony Greene; sister-in-laws, Sherry Murray, Angela Greene, Evelyn Bryant, Della Bryant, Kimberly Johnson and Kenesha Bryant; Earl Daughtry, (brother), Katrina Young (sister), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many close friends.

The funeral service for Kelvin Stanley Davis, Sr. will be held 2:00 pm Monday, August 24th, 2015 at the Northside Church of Christ 4736 Avenue B. JACKSONVILLE, FL 32209. The visitation will be 3:00 pm 6:00 pm , Sunday, August 23rd, 2015 at the mortuary. Interment is private. Please sign the family guest book and view the video tribute @ www.tswarden.com.
