Rosemary Terrista Clayton Love was born on October 25, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Mr. Isiah Owens and Ms. Ima Rose White. The nickname “Terri” giving by the family and “Clown” by her spouse. Terri received her early and secondary education in the Duval County Public Schools, graduating from William M. Raines High School, Class of 1971. She later continued her education at Florida Community College of Jacksonville, where she earned her certification as a Nursing Assistant.

On April 25, 1972, Terri married her high school sweetheart, Nathan Love Jr. and from this union five children emerged, Anthony, Nathan III, Nadia, Nolan and Nakara. Terri was a devoted spouse, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to those she came in contact with.

Terri’s faith in Christ began in her early childhood, with her affiliation with West Friendship Baptist Church. Her road continued when she gave her life to the Lord during her high school baccalaureate at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church. She furthered her Christian walk by becoming a member of Central Metropolitan C.M.E. Church under the pastoral leadership of Willie McDaniel where she served on Usher Board #2, and the Children’s Youth Ministry. Many Jacksonville businesses profited from this angel’s many talents and skills; University Medical Center, W.E. Clayton Bus Service, First Student and Durham Bus Service.

Terri had a compassion for caring for children. She pursued this all her life with the support of her immediate family. Terri embarked on a career she had no idea had evolved by caring for her grandchildren, her home became the place where all the kids wanted to go. After about 4-5 years later, Terri additionally began caring for her grand nieces, and nephews at her home which was affectionately known as the “Animal Cracker Day Care #2”.

Terri was blessed to live a rich and beautiful life of 62 years. On November 9, 2015 at Orange Park Medical Center with her family at her side, she made her final move from mortality to immortality leaving family and friends to cherish wonderful memories from her life. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Nadia Love; father, Isiah Owens; step-father, James White; parents, William and Maude Clayton; brother-in-law, Norman Wilder; aunts, Margaret Day, and Veronica Clayton; uncle, William Clayton Jr.

Terri leaves with us a loving husband of 43 years, Nathan H. Love, Jr.; devoted children, sons, Anthony Love (Essence), Nathan W. H. Love III (Sherilyn), Seattle, Washington, Nolan Love; daughter, Nakara Love, Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Savien Love, Naykeria Love, Nyijah Love, Arabia Easely, and Carolyn Love; grandsons, Jeffrey Procter, and Nehemyah Eutsay; mother, Ms. Ima Rose White; siblings, Selaine Wilder, Los Angeles, California, Tonya King (Charles), Chyrisse White, and Beverly Almestica (Val); nieces, Ivy White, Alisha Owens, Sylver White, and Angelina Almestica; nephews, Darius Wilder, Charles King, and Divonite Almestica; great-grand nieces, Sage Parker, Alana Wilder, Zara Owens, and Kennedy Owens; great-grand nephew, Patrick Owens, Jr.; aunts, Gloria Clayton, and Gwendolyn Friall; uncles, Willie Clayton (Emma), and James Clayton; godsons, Brandon Clayton (Natalie), and Jermaine Marshall (Natalie), Orlando, Florida; goddaughters, Tamiko Williams, and Nakia Love, and many loving cousins, and friends.


The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015, 11AM at the Central Metropolitan CME Church, 4611 N. Pearl Street. Visitation will be Friday, 5-7PM with a service of reflections from 7-8 PM at the mortuary. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries.
