Obituary for Elizabeth Bradley Fairley

Elizabeth Bradley Fairley was born in Barnwell County in Allendale, South Carolina on March 10, 1917 to Johnson Bradley and Susie Priester. She was the youngest of five children. She attended school in Blackshear, Georgia and furthered her education at Savannah State College. Elizabeth later moved to Jacksonville, Florida where her love for children led her to a career in education; first at Head Start and later as an assistant teacher at S.A. Hull Elementary, where she retired in her late 80s. Elizabeth was a baptized believer and long standing member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Elizabeth met and married the late Elbert Maultsby, Sr. From this union two children were born, Elbert Maultsby, Jr., and John Maultsby.

On May 23, 1945, Elizabeth married the late  James Wendell Fairley, whom passed away in 1976. From this union, four children were born, Leonard Earl Fairley (Hannah), Wendell James Fairley (Carolyn), Carolyn Fairley Morrison, and Maggie Fairley Alford (James).

Elizabeth entered into eternal rest on Wednesday evening, November 18, 2015, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Elizabeth was blessed with 17 grandchildren: Markeisha Maultsby, Elbert Michael Maultsby II, Travis Maultsby, Latashia Fairley, Leonard Fairley Robinson, Melinda Fairley, Makel Fairley, Adrian Corey Fairley, Nina Fairley Busch, Quentin Griffin, Antonio Malone, Angelita Malone, Masani Morrison, Marlena Alford, James Alford IV, Justin Alford, and Johnathan Alford. She also had 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a plethora of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and family friends.

Elizabeth was the most loving and graceful woman that God could have blessed a family with. Her days were long and her life was full. We hope her loving, kindness, and grace be granted to her descendants here now and those to come. As she continues her eternal journey with God, we will always keep her in our thoughts and in our hearts.
