Walter Nelson, Jr. was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 4, 1941 into the union of the late Walter Nelson, Sr. and Daisy Spatcher-Nelson. Walter graduated from Pine Forest High School in Callahan, Florida Class of 1959. He retired from the U. S. Department of Agriculture after 31 years of dedicated service.

Walter departed this life on Saturday, November 21, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Nelson, Sr.; mother, Daisy Spatcher-Nelson; brother, Holsey Nelson; sisters, Daisy Mae Nelson, Della Mae Nelson, and Zondra Poole.

Walter leaves to mourn his passing: daughters, Veronica Pryor (James), and Petrina Nelson; son, Thomas Nelson; granddaughters, Shauntel Davis (Sherwood), and Tiffany Alexander; brother, Leon Harris; sisters, Susie Mae Nelson, Velma Pettiford, and Koren Golsen; nephews, Rodney McKnight (Melissa), and Elton Humphries; nieces, Mahogany Humphries, and Essence Humphries, and a host of other relatives, and friends.

The funeral service for Walter Nelson Jr. will be held 11AM, Saturday, at the New Bethel AME Church 45133 Page Street Callahan, Fl. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM , Friday, at the Church.
