Obituary for Richard Williams Jr.
Mr. Richard Williams, Jr. was born on May 23, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the son of Richard Williams, Sr. and Willie Mae Tisby. Richard Jr. was known to many as “Butch” a nickname given to him by his siblings.
Richard was a truck driver for over 25 years and had many friends who drove trucks as well. During his career, he met his wife, Georgiann Smith and they were united in holy matrimony on July 18, 1984. This marriage was blessed with a daughter, Alice Reshon Williams.
Richard accepted Christ in his life during his last peaceful days at Community Hospice Community Center in Jacksonville, Florida.
Richard departed this life calmly at the age of 74 on Monday, January 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alice Reshon Williams and father, Richard Williams, Sr.
Richard leaves to cherish his legacy a loving wife, Georgiann Williams; sons, Andrey Smith, Larry Sessions, Richard Craig Williams, and Adrian Williams; daughters, Phyllis Hixon, Tomeka Williams, and Mishika Williams; mother, Willie Mae Tisby; sister, Lucille Grooms; brother, Kenneth Tisby; special friend, Johnny Brown; special caring nephew, Vincent Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The funeral service for Richard Williams Jr. will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street JACKSONVILLE, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 pm 7:00 pm , Friday, January 22nd, 2016 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Private.
