Obituary for Cass W Shootes IV

Cass W  Shootes IV
Cass Wellington Shootes, IV was born in Jacksonville, Florida on February 17, 1962 to Cass Wellington Shootes, III and Thelma Laverne Shootes. He was baptized at the Northside Church of Christ at the age of fourteen, and also a member of the Christian Bros. Cass attended the local schools in Duval County graduating from Paxon Senior High School, Class of 1980. He furthered his education in Atlanta, Georgia at DeVry Institute. Cass later met and married Tansy L. Butler in Jacksonville, Florida on October 2, 1983 and from this union was born Cassandra Wynetta Shootes, Cass Wellington Shootes, V, and Christopher William Shootes.

Cass departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Cass Wellington Shootes, III; grandparents, Cass Wellington Shootes, II and Lucretia Ball-Shootes; Deacon Ben and Lee Artis Savage; also his long time companion, Teresa Williams.
 
Cass leaves to mourn his passing, devoted Tansy; four children, Cassandra Wynetta Shootes, Cass Wellington Shootes, V, Christopher William Shootes, and Courtney Welletta Shootes; mother, Thelma L. Shootes; brother, Stanley A. Shootes (Jackie); sisters, Tatrice C. Shootes, Kaylen L. Shootes-Woodard, Rashana Anglin (all of Jacksonville, FL); grandson, Zayden I. McKeag; five aunts, Mittie Shootes Baker, Charlie Simmons, Virginia Johnson, Gail Beasley, Eula Barnwell; uncle, Eugene Savage; two great aunts, Ethel Williams and Mary Butler; one great uncle, James Savage; one stepson, Raymond Williams; two nieces, StanVonna Thomas (Marvin) and Jacquanta Shootes; two nephews, Stanley A. Shootes, II and Jacquan Shootes; two great nieces, Ti’lar Hearst and Tristan Ford; great nephew, Devien Shootes and a number of cousins, other relatives, and loving friends.

The funeral service for Cass W Shootes, IV will be held 1:00 PM SATURDAY,at the Northside Church of Christ 4736 Avenue B. The visitation will be 5 - 7:00 pm , Friday, at the mortuary.
