Obituary for Beatrice McBride

Beatrice McBride
Beatrice McBride affectionately called “Ms. Bea” by her family and friends. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 13, 1923 to the late James Cromatie and Rose Williams. To her family she was a caring wife, devoted mother, loving sister, and a monumental grandmother. To other relatives, neighbors, friends, and all who knew her, she was a heart full of love and service. Ms. Bea was never too busy nor too tired to help someone in need.

Ms. Bea received her education from the public school system in Duval County where she completed the twelfth grade. Following the leadership of her father, Ms. Bea united with Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she remained until her death. A very compassionate and devoted person whom God endowed with understanding and love for her fellowman. Ms. Bea was willing to give of her time, because of her exuberant personality; she was loved and respected by all who knew her.

Ms. Bea departed this life on Friday, February 5, 2015. What rejoice there must be in heaven when Beatrice McBride made a safe flight from earth below to dwell eternally with her heavenly father above; alone with her parents, James Cromatie and Rose Williams; brothers, Willie Cromatie and James Cromatie, Jr.; daughters, Shirley Hardmon, Carolyn Dudley, Brenda Rogers, and Carrie Mae McBride; grandson, Devin Rogers.

Ms. Bea leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted sister, Margaret Mitchell; sister-in-law, Willie Pearl Moffet; daughter, Rochelle Roberts; son, Larry Evans; grandchildren, Jim King, James (Tammy) King, Cederic King, Darron (Shonda) Hardmon, Tammy (Donald) Charles, Burnell Jones, Michael (Angela) Hardmon, Patrick (Karen) Blutcher, Terry Hardmon, Nathaniel Dudley, Donald Rogers, Yusef Evans, Jimmy Hackley, Caribe (Ranita) Evans, Reshaun McBride, Krystalyn Ross Evans, and Chem Royce Evans; great grandchildren, Tiana, Patrick Jr., Raivyn, Alina, Ayanna, Darius, Madison, DeMario, Michael Jr., Asia, Naja, Nyah, Jarod, Tiquawana, Devin, Donald Jr., Jajuan, Serenity, Andre’; great-great grandchildren, Damione, Gabrione, Harmony, Germani, Armahni, Journee, Donald III, Donariyal, Donanah, and Kimanyon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

We are grateful to God for given us a life that was loved. Ms. Bea left us a legacy of many blessed and precious memories. ~ Lovely the family
