Obituary for Benjamin "Alvin" Frazier

Benjamin "Alvin" Frazier
Mr. Benjamin “Alvin” Frazier was born on January 16, 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida to Ms. Diane L. Lawson and united with John L. Thorpe as his father. He was the oldest of six children and completed his education in the Duval County School System.

Alvin was a devoted family man. Revered by many, his role as husband, father, son, grandson, grandfather, brother, cousin, and faithful friends will forever reflect in his legacy. Alvin was known for working with his hands, his talents consists of being a certified mason, contractor, architect, painter, and self-proclaimed comedian. Yet, it is those who knew him best that would agree, he mastered the skill of turkey frying.
Alvin wore many hats, his roles range from protector to confidant. He was extremely protective of his baby sisters, super supportive of his children and grandchildren, and dedicated to his loving wife Tonya. Thirty-five years ago, Alvin and Tonya became a couple at Northwestern Junior High School, and in 2004 the junior high school sweethearts joined in holy matrimony and so remained until his demise.

On June 25, 2016 as it began to rain, thunder, and lightning, God opened up the flood gates of Heaven and ushered Alvin in. Patiently awaiting him were angels, his mother, Diane; father, John L.; grandmothers, Bertha and Catherine; uncles, Nathaniel and Ronald; aunt, Mary Jean; and father-in-law, Charles C. Byrd; Oh what a celebration they are having!

Alvin leaves to cherish his legacy: his loving wife, Tonya; children, Tangela, Alvin, Dimitri, Devin (Juanice), Arielle, Justin, Dominique, Devaughn, and Sigourney; sisters, Seteria and Crystal; brothers, Toriano (Rod), Cornell (Pete), John L.
