Obituary for Stanley Keith "Georgia Red" Johnson

Stanley Keith "Georgia Red"  Johnson
Mr. Stanley Keith Johnson was born on October 11, 1961 in Athens, Georgia to the late Willie C. Johnson and Lizzie Harper. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Springfield Baptist Church in Comer, Georgia. In 1979 Stanley graduated from Oglethorpe County High School, Lexington, Georgia. He enlisted in the US Navy shortly after high school and retired after serving for over 20 years. Stanley was employed with the International Longshoremen Association. Stanley departed this life on July 15, 2016.

Stanley leaves behind on earth his loving wife of 28 years, Ruthie Johnson; two children, Gregory Brown and Keith Johnson; mother, Lizzie Sue Harper; a sister, Denise Mitchell (Stacy) of Athens, Georgia; brother-in-law, Ernest Brown; a special uncle, Jackie Lawton; a special cousin, Cornelius Johnson; mother-in-law, Marie Brown; grandchild, Jordyn Brown; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral service for Stanley Keith Johnson aka "Georgia Red" will be held 11:00 am SATURDAY, at the Bethel Baptist Institutional Church, Historic Sanctuary 215 Bethel Baptist St. The visitation will be held 5 - 8:00 pm, Friday, at the mortuary.
