Obituary for Jimmy L Elerby

Jimmy L. Elerby was born August 25, 1928 to the late Tony Elerby and Lucy King in Eufaula, Alabama. Jimmy moved to Jacksonville, Florida with his family at a young age. He joined Mt. Ararat Baptist Church as a youngster and over the years cultivated many friendships.

Jimmy worked as a truck driver for Pitman and retired after 35 plus years of service. He was married to Grace for 58 years until her passing in 2007.

On the evening of Thursday, August 4, 2016, the Lord called his servant Jimmy Elerby home. His soul winged it’s flight from this world of sin, sorrow, and pain to a place of eternal rest.

Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories children, Jimmy Elerby for his never ending love and dedication, Tony Elerby for unending communication and comfort, Nancy Jamall for her tireless time and attention, Byron Elerby for his unmatched sensibility and dedication, Lisa Elerby for her undeniable dedication, Johnetta Elerby (Tony), Akbar Jamall (Nancy), Henry Bates (Lisa), and Betty Elerby (Jimmy Jr.); grandchildren, Tonyetta Elerby, Shawn Elerby (Vanessa), Tracy Spencer (Warren), Brandon Elerby, Brandy Elerby, Kalilah Jamall, Elijah Jamall, and Somalia Jamall; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
