Obituary for Almeta Benoit

Almeta Benoit
Almeta Clark Benoit was born on September 24, 1942 in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Albert Clark and Marguerite Bradley. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and has been a member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church for many years. Almeta received her education at New Stanton High School and upon completing she then married a career military man which is the reason she became a homemaker for her family; the lady of the house, wife, and mother. Almeta was an excellent cook of different ethnic origins. She spent most of her time caring for her family while embracing many friends and neighbors. She was a godmother, grandmother, friend, and counselor to many. Almeta welcomed you into her home and made sure everyone had a meal while showing love, support, and understanding. She let you know that you were always welcome in her home. She loved a variety of music and traveling. She enjoyed making you laugh with her jokes.

Almeta was loved by all and enjoyed serving many families who were alone and didn’t have family close, she became your family and friend. She was happy if she could make others laugh, she was a true servant to others.

Almeta departed this life on Thursday, September 22, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Clark and Marguerite Wilson, husband, Edgar J. Benoit; sisters, Martha Ann Austin Richburg, and Patricia A. Clark; and brother, James Wilson.

Almeta leaves to cherish loving memories with her children, two daughters, Allyson Bowden and Bridget Benoit; a son, Joseph T. Benoit; sister, Ira F. Wilson King; brother, Kenneth Clark (Betty); aunts, Verdell Nelson and Eva Green; uncle, Ezelle Clark; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of sorrowing friends. Also to cherish her memoris are special cousins being the Meeks family and Cassandra Clark; two special friends, Maggie Williams and Josphine Davis.
