Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Edwards was born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 3, 1927 to James and Alberta Saylor. She was educated in the Duval County Public Schools system. Doris was married to Otis Edwards, she was baptized at Northside Church of Christ in the early 80’s.

Doris departed this life on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. She was preceded in death by both parents, Alberta Saylor and James Saylor; husband, Otis Edwards; grandsons, Tracy Lewis and Curtis Williams, III.

Doris leaves to cherish her memory a loving family: daughters, Barbara J. Walker, Mary E. Madison, Linda L, Walker, Earlene M. Williams and Charity M. Edwards; son, Larry J. Edwards (Teresa) of Albany, Georgia; brother, Andre R. Saylor; grandchildren, Harry Walker, Angela Graham, Trina Madison, Alexis Edwards (Manny), Larry Edwards (Jessica), Anthony Williams (Carolyn), La’Tasha Lewis, Fikisha Walker, Walter Lewis, Jolisha Simmons (Gregory), Demetrice Edwards, Diamond Edwards and Saylor Edwards; 24 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; 3 great nieces; and cousin, Faye Jackson.

The funeral service for Doris Elizabeth Edwards will be held 11:00 am FRIDAY, October 6th, 2017 at the Northside Church of Christ, 4736 Ave B. The visitation will be held 5 - 7:00 pm, Thursday at the mortuary. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Please sign the family guest book and view the video tribute @ www.tswarden.com.
