Obituary for James Woodson

James  Woodson
James Woodson was born on February 1, 1960 in Key West, Florida in a Naval Base Hospital to Charles James Woodson and Mary Lee Woodson. He confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Franklintown United Methodist Church. James was later baptized by RJ Washington of the Titus Harvest Dome Spectrum Church, where he was a fellow member. He grew up in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he attended Samuel B. Huey. James later moved to Fernandina Beach where he received education in the local schools; he then moved to Jacksonville, Florida and attended William M. Raines High School.

James was a dedicated employee for Anchor Glass Container for over 38 years of service. He later met and fell in love with Janice Woodson who then became his wife on March 29, 1993, a daughter, Jamie Woodson was born from this union.

James enjoyed a variety of music and he was a big fan of racing motorcycles and cars.

James departed this life on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles James Woodson and sister, Betty Gary.

James leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Jamie Woodson; a loving mother, Mary Lee Archey; grandson, Demari Battle; sister, Alnetha Gary; stepson, Bruce Smith, Jr.; stepdaughter, April Smith; granddaughter, Laela Jenkins; and a host of other family members and friends.

The funeral service for James Woodson will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 at the Franklintown United Methodist Church 1415 Lewis Street American Beach, FL 32034. The visitation will be 5:00 pm 7:00 pm , Friday, November 2nd, 2018 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Franklintown Cemetery.
