Obituary for Alfreda E Johnson
Sister Alfreda Elaine Simmons Johnson, was born on February 12, 1949 to the late Alvin Simmons and Mattie Lee Simmons. Alfreda was raised in Jacksonville, Florida and attended the local schools in Duval County. She worked for Atlantic Bank for over 20 years.
Alfreda birthed two boys, later met and married Bobby Johnson and in that union she took on four more children and treated them as they were her very own.
Alfreda departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, she was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Mattie Lee Simmons; brother, Ricky Simmons; sister, Ruth Knowles; she also had a daughter, whom preceded her in death on August 21, 2004.
Alfreda leaves to mourn, her husband Bobby Johnson; nine children, Eric Simmons, Jason Johnson, Ricky Johnson, Steven Johnson, Darren Johnson (Tiffany), Phylis Johnson, Leann Refore, Bobby Johnson, and Jeffrey Johnson; sisters, Cynthia Johnson, and Renee Young; brothers, Joseph Simmons, Leonard Simmons; godmother, Walter Mae “Bunch” Stewart; god sister, Rusha “Cookie” Sullivan; fourteen grandchildren, Darren Baldwin, Stephen Johnson, Eric Simmons, Charde Lester, Adrien Johnson, Deandre Lester, Darren Johnson, Chianne Lester, Emeri Simmons, Jason-Triston Johnson, Nevaeh Johnson, Ryland-Jace Johnson, Brandon Refore, Nakia Ingram; two great-grandchildren, Aidan Decker, Shanel Barkley, and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Alfreda E Johnson will be held 11:00 am Friday, at the Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church 10325 Interstate Center Drive JACKSONVILLE, FL 32218.
