Alice Mae "Jelly"  Gainey
Mrs. Alice Mae Gainey was born on January 15, 1923 in Jacksonville, Florida to Mr. James and Mrs. Dorothy Harris. She attended the local schools in Duval County. Alice met Mr. Andrew Gainey and they were united in marriage until his death in 1982. They were both faithful and dedicated servants of God and attended Bowden United Methodist Church. Alice was a kind and caring person, she always spoke her mind, but with love and care. Alice spent many, many hours in service to her church and community. She will be greatly missed by all. Alice lived a long and fruitful life. She loved her family and always put them first.

Alice departed this life on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was preceded in death by her spouse, two daughters, Barbara Hamilton and Dorothy Williams; brother, James Harris, Jr.; sister, Frances Randall; granddaughter, Alexia Haynes; and grandson, Frank Hoover, Jr.

Alice leaves to cherish loving memories her children, Emma Freeman, Josephine Johnson (Walter), Cynthia Gainey-Haynes, Edrena Bell (Bruce), Patricia Gainey, Anthony Gainey, and Eddie Gainey; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; niece, Sharon; nephews, Roderick, Gregory, and Darren; many cousins and friends.
