Obituary for ANNIE Willie EVANS (Mosley)

ANNIE Willie EVANS (Mosley)
Annie Willie Mosley Evans was born to the late Will and Annie Mosley in Jacksonville, Florida on November 5, 1943. She joined First Baptist Church of Oakland in 1953 where she was baptized under the pastorate ship of the late Rev. Dr. J.C. Sams. Annie united with the Union Progressive Baptist Church in 1995, before her illness she was a faithful and active member. She completed her education in the Duval County Public Schools and was a proud graduate class of 1960 from Matthew W. Gilbert Junior Senior High School. She furthered her education at Walker Business College where she majored in Business, as a scholar at heart she enjoyed reading and writing stories in that impeccable, perfect handwriting.

Annie married David Evans, Sr. in 1962 and to this union four children were born. She was a warm and compassionate woman with an infectious smile and a willing ear.

Annie granted her angel wings on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Since she was named Annie, after her mother, it was only fitting that the date of her departure would be on her mother’s birthday. It was her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God that supported her during her illness and ultimately gave her peace.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Annie Mosley; her daughter, Wilhelmina Evans and several sisters and brothers.

Annie leaves to cherish in memory: one daughter, Vontrilla Mathews (Ronnie); two sons, David Evans, Jr (Carol) and Toma Evans; grandchildren, Leonard Cohen, Ferdarius Cohen, Vonquinetta Mathews, Ronnie Mathews, Raquel Massey, Tomeka Harris, Arianna Harris; sisters, Deborah Norman (Ervin), Brenda Goodman (Halquinn), Paulette Geddes; brother, Richard Mosley; nieces, Nicole Norman, Denitra Jay (Anthony), Deborah Rinders (Robert); and a host of family members and friends.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 am FRIDAY, June 9th, 2017 at the Union Progressive Baptist Church, 613 Pippin St. The visitation will be 5 - 7:00 pm, Thursday at the mortuary. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries. Please sign the family guest book @ www.tswarden.com. Arrangements in care of Tyrone S. Warden, FDIC, 4315 N. Main Street, 765-1234
