Barbara Lousie Green Johnson was born on August 3, 1934 to Ruby and Roosevelt Green Sr. in Jacksonville, Florida. Barbara and Leon was joined in holy matrimony on May 11, 1959.
Barbara transitioned on Saturday, January 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ruby and Roosevelt Green; her beloved husband of 52 years, Leon Carlyle Johnson, Sr.; brothers, Roosevelt Green Jr. and Alfred Green; cousins, Lucille Clark and Helen Steward; sister-in-law, Rosalyn Green; niece, Denice Green Bursey; sisters and brothers in love, Cora Shealey, Earnestine Kelly, Julia Brown, Vivian Sharp, Freda Cato, Maudella Hooks, Joe Bossard, Wesley Bossard, and James Bossard.
Barbara leaves to mourn her passing: children, Leon Carlyle Johnson Jr. (Annetta) and Michelle Elaine Johnson; grandchildren, Daunte’ Butler, Darius Eunice (Dana), Ru’Sheara Dorns, Tomeka Stewart and Shaquana Bellamy; four great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Wilamena Green and Josephine Bridgers; brother-in-laws, Maceo Johnson (Ida), David Johnson (Sandy), Theodore Johnson (Laurie) and Kenneth Johnson; a host of nieces and nephews including her special niece, Stephanie Rawls (Earl); cousins, Leonard Robinson (Lisa) and Alvin Steward (Vecky), sister and brother in love, Wilamena Frazier (James) and Richard Bossard; her former employers, Robert and Polly Stein and Family.
