Billy Ray  McGraw
Mr. Billy Ray McGraw was born June 26, 1946 in Vincent, AL to Clyde McGraw and Gracie Lee Hardy. He was raised by his grandparents Nash and Annie Mae Hardy. Billy confessed Christ at an early age joining Coosa Valley Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. P.E Kidd in Vincent, AL. Billy graduated from Shelby County Training School, class of 1964, moved to Chicago in 1965 and later was drafted into the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War.


Billy moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1968, later joined the International Longshoremen’s Association, where he worked until retirement. Billy was a devoted member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, Dr. Rev. Landon L. Williams, Pastor, for over 36 years. Billy enjoyed teaching Sunday School, served with “Men of Purpose” Ministry and Male Ushers Ministry.  

In 1980, Billy Ray met Waynetta Moses on a blind date, and on February 14, 1981 the two became one.

Cherishing his memories, “The Love of His Life”, best friend, confidant, his loving and devoted wife of 35 years Waynetta McGraw; his baby, Sarabi; children, Renee, Wayshawn; and most dedicated Michelle and Brandon; grandchildren, Natasha, Kaniecia, Brandon, Shauna, and “His Pride and Joy”, Logan; siblings, Terry (Cherry Ann), John, Ronnie, Jimmie, Jackie (Erica), Janice, Ernest; aunt, Joann; uncles, Jay and Clayvell; a host of cousins and Lynda (Joseph) who was raised with him like a sister; countless nieces and nephews; loving God-children James (LaTangala) Williams, James Williams, II, Yolanda (Odell) Myles, Ta’Carra McClendon, and Deonta’ King; supportive friends, Rev. Willie Joe Posey, Rev. Walter Ellis, Tyrone Merchant, Reginald Williams, Minister Clayton Kinson, Samuel L. Jackson, Niles Q. Bland, Sr., Tyrone S. Warden, Ralph Robinson and many sorrowing friends.

The funeral service for Billy Ray McGraw will be held 10:00 am TUESDAY, December 13th, 2016 at the Greater Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 9550 Ribault Ave. The visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday at the mortuary Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
