Claudette Marie McClendon Brunson, was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 22, 1953 to the late, Willie D. McClendon, Sr., and Flora McClendon. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined New Redeem Missionary Baptist Church. Claudette attended the Public Schools in Duval County, graduating from Andrew Jackson Senior High School, Class of 1971. She later graduated from dental college and Florida State College of Jacksonville in the Upholstery Program.
Claudette is currently a member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church under the leadership of H.B. Charles Jr. Claudette worked for the United Parcel Service and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. She loved her family and had a love for interior design and gardening.
Claudette, departed this life on Friday, March 27, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie D. McClendon, Sr. and Flora McClendon; brothers, Willie D. McClendon, Jr., Johnny McClendon, Sr., Harold McClendon, Sr., and Virgil McClendon.
Claudette, leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Thornton E. Brunson, Jr.; two sons, Thornton E. Brunson, III and Derrick L. Brunson; granddaughter, Iyanna Brunson; sisters, Jacquelyn Clark (Horace), Linda Barfield (George), Maxine Reid (Gregory), Rosetta Borden, Sylvia McClendon, Mary Alvin (Daryl Sr.), Ruby Price (Murvine), Wanda Allen (Willie Sr.); brothers, Ernest Pitts (Bridgette), James Lundy (Barbara), Terry McClendon (Mary), Donald McClendon (Linda); sister-in-laws, Phyllis G. Brunson, Verneese McClendon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a dear and devoted friend, Deana West.

The funeral service for Claudette Marie Brunson will be held 11AM, Saturday at the New Redeem Missionary Baptist Church 1614 E 30th Street. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM, Friday, at the mortuary.
