Obituary for CODY Alexander WILLIAMS

CODY Alexander WILLIAMS
Cody Alexander Williams was born on December 29, 1996 in Orange Park, FL. He became a welcomed addition to the Williams family in August of 2004. He was immediately enrolled in the Potter’s House Christian Academy in the 2nd grade, where he received several awards and recognitions that included, Spelling B Champion, A/B Honor Roll recipient, Honor Society inductee, and School Valedictorian. It was also there Cody’s gift of writing was discovered and nurtured. As a result, Cody became an official author when three of his writings were selected to be featured in a published collection of student writings that sold in major book stores throughout the country. This experience ignited Cody’s interest in creative writing and motivated him to audition for admittance to Douglas Anderson School of the Arts Creative Writing Program. After a challenging first year at Douglas Anderson, Cody’s writing ability progressed to a higher level of genius. This enabled him to compete in several writing competitions, both district and statewide. However, it was his senior year that brought him his most valued recognition by having two of his writing pieces selected by a national literary publishing magazine that featured the best creative writing pieces in the country. This was one of the happiest days of Cody’s life. After graduating from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Cody applied for and was accepted at Florida Atlantic University to major in Criminal Psychology. Cody was nearing completion of the fall term for his Sophomore year when he passed away.

Cody was an active young member of Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ. A gifted singer, he was a member of the Praise Team, District Choir and N2Life National Youth Choir. He served as School of Wisdom Superintendent and active participant in youth day services. Cody enjoyed all genres of music, loved reading, and enjoyed movies of deep meaning; his favorite movie being Taxi Driver. Although quiet and reserved, Cody was also a prankster that enjoyed “punking” his parents. Very well versed, intelligent and articulate, Cody was always willing to share his personal views regarding politics and social issues. Noted as being well mannered, intelligent, mature, courteous, a lover of animals and always an advocate for the least fortunate. Cody was a lover of good food, nice clothes, shoes and good smelling cologne. His most loved and admired attribute was his beautiful smile, that will forever remain in our hearts.

Cody leaves to cherish his wonderful memories his parents, Elder Andrew, Sr. and Vonceil Williams; sister, Terrika Wimberly (Curtis); brother, Andrew Williams, Jr.; niece, Andrea Wimberly; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Vera Monroe; aunts, Presider Dr. Loranda Denson (Elder Fred), Doreen Pooler (Julius), Joanne White, and Sheila Williams; uncles, Lorenzo Monroe, Jr.(Eliana) and Douglas Monroe; special cousins, Brittney White, Loren Brown, Christopher Reed, George and Tammyla Reed; many other cousins, great uncles and great aunts; godparents, Arthur and Daphne Mallory; god sister, Melissa Mallory; god brothers, Arthur Mallory, III, Gregory Tootle, and Leon Harris; honorary uncle and aunts, Presider Arnold and Mo. Shirley Philmore (Live Oak, FL), Timothy and Patricia Hills, Elder Tony and Valeria Jenkins (Ocoee, FL), Debra Gaddy and Vondrita Foster; his church family, a host of friends, neighbors, classmates, and most of all, his black lab King.
