Lingering Thoughts

I could write an entire memoir of stories that we shared between middle school, high school, and adulthood. I think about all our conversations and life's events that we shared together. We went to school dances, laughed and passed notes in class, me cheering you on at basketball ball games (even the one where you hurt your knee), me betting that you would cry at our high school graduation (I won the bet you big water baby),eventually going to separate HBCUs,me being there for your college graduation, our weddings, Traelen's baby shower (you are the best mother),our 30th birthday bash to Puerto Rico, and the last time I saw her beautiful face. I can't help but think about all the things we talked about on our last video call, one of which was what she was getting momma for Christmas this year. We tried to figure out how on Earth we could get US Open tickets. We shared so many ideas, silly moments, but most of all love and respect. Nobody knew my deepest secrets like Keiya. We would always say we were going to be best friends from diapers to dependz. May you rest in love and know that a part of me will always be with you.
