Obituary for Darrell KiJuana "Hightop" Rutledge
Darrell K. Rutledge, Jr. was born in Savannah, Georgia on May 2, 1995 to Darrell Rutledge and Trina Johnson-Rutledge. He confessed to Christ one year ago, uniting with Northside Church of Christ where he was baptized by Senior Minister, Elder Charlie McClendon. Darrell attended school in Jacksonville, Florida and received his education at Raines High School. He was a devoted, loving and caring father. He could make you smile and laugh on your worst day. Darrell departed this life on April 1, 2016, and was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Rutledge; Eli Rutledge his paternal great-grandfather from Savannah, Ga.
Darrell "Hightop" leaves behind his daughter, Jadyn Rutledge; mother, Trina Johnson-Rutledge (Jacksonville, FL); two brothers, Damian Johnson (Atlanta, GA) and Tramel Rutledge (Jacksonville FL); four sisters, Dominique (Jacksonville FL), Alicia, Shalynn, and Michelle Rutledge (Savannah, GA); maternal grandparents, John and Alice Curry (Savannah GA); paternal grandmother, Patricia Rutledge (Savannah, GA); paternal great-grandmother, Lottie Banner (Savannah GA); maternal great-grandmother, Mattie Walker (Boston, MA); uncles, Donnell Garnett (Fort Worth, TX) and Enricque (Niyikia) Rutledge (Savannah, GA); aunts, Shjuana (Chauncey) Wood (Jacksonville FL), Felicia (Neil) Hagan (Savannah, GA), and Anita Curry (Daytona Beach, FL); great aunts, Shirley Shubert (Savannah GA), Janice Shubert (Augusta, GA), Juanita Williams (Hinesville, GA), and Roseann Grice (Savannah, GA); with a host of other aunts and uncles. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a special friend, Joanna and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
The funeral service for Darrell KiJuana Rutledge " Hightop" will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at the Northside Church of Christ 4736 Avenue B. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM , Friday, at the mortuary. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries. Please sign the family guest book @ www.tswarden.com. Arrangements in care of Tyrone S.
