Doris Jean Dye

Doris Jean Dye was born the 4th child of the Late Nathan Sparrow Sr. and the Late Evelyn Sands Sparrow in Sanford, Florida on January 30, 1945. She attended the local schools of Duval County and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1963. She furthered her education at Florida Memorial College in St. Augustine, Fl. Doris taught elementary school in Duval county before moving to Chicago, Illinois where she was employed with Illinois Bell for many years. She moved back to Jacksonville in 1978. Doris resumed her teaching career in 1993 and retired in October 2009 from Matthew Gilbert Middle School. Doris met her husband Arthur Dye Jr. while working at Gilbert and entered into holy matrimony with him on September 27, 1999. Doris was baptized and received her Christian upbringing at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church.
Doris is survived by her devoted husband of 10years, Arthur Dye Sr., her LOVING DAUGHTERS: Latonya(Elwan)Lang and Shannon Sharpe(Russell), her Guardian and Sister; Betty Edwards, BROTHERS: Deacon Willie (Betty) Black, and Minister Richard(Gloria)Black, SISTERS: Gloria(Jackie) Barber, Evelyn Thorne, Shirley(Norman) Moore and Traci(Carl)Williams, SISTER-IN-LAW: Carriehta(Archibald)Donadelle. STEPCHILDREN: Michael Williams, Arthur Dye III, Carolyn Way, Alice Brown, Carolyn Smith and Devin Williams. 6 Grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren, 23 nieces and nephews. Numerous great nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends
